A New Line Home Entertainment e a Warner Video irão lançar  a trilogia O Senhor dos Anéis numa edição gigante em blu-ray no dia 6 de abril de 2010. A caixa, que terá 9 discos, terá as versões do cinema dos três filmes além de mais de 7 horas de extras (os extras, infelizmente, virão em DVD) mais um preview da versão extendida em blu-ray, que será lançada “em outra data”, segundo o comunicado.

Os videos serão apresentados no formato 2.40:1 1080p, com áudio 5.1 Dolby TrueHD. As legendas serão em inglês, francês, alemão, espanhol, polonês, português, romeno, russo e eslavo.
